I GOT THIS FROM ONE OF THE AU PAIRS I MET IN NY AND I FOUND THAT IT REALLY DESCRIBES MY LIFE NOW. SO HILARIOUS! I ADDED MY OWN COMMENTS. ENJOY :)



…you always introduce yourself with: ‘Hi! my name is (your name), I’m from (country) and I have (amount of children you are taking care of) children!!’

… you spent all your money at the MALL and you still have nothing to wear (AND NO SAVINGS)

… you think $200 every weekend just for shopping and coffee is too much in your country but not that much here

… one cup of coffee doesn’t make you awake anymore, it just makes you alive (ESPECIALLY FRAPUCCINO :P)

…you only have other Au Pairs as your friends (TRUE TRUE TRUE)

…you know what a LAR, Host Family and goAUPAIR are

...someone has asked you stupid questions like: ‘do you have cars in your country?’ – ‘You don’t have Thanksgiving?’ – ‘Where is your country?’ (YOU'RE FROM ARGENTINA, BUT YOU'RE BLONDE! AAGGGGGGG)

…you go on PLAY-DATES

…you hate Dora, The Wiggles and Thomas

…you’ve seen more movies in one month than in your whole life at home

…you cherish moments of silence more than ever before

…you notice yourself saying ‘GOOD JOB’ a hundred times a day (MY GIRL ONCE ASKED ME TO STOP SAYING GOOD! TOO MANY TIMES LOL)

…you wonder why you slept the whole night long so uncomfortable and you notice the next morning, you slept on a barbie, a lollypop, sandtoys etc. (NOT MY PROBLEM, MY BED IS AWESOMEEEEE)
…the worst thing is, when the dad is working from home (THAT'S GOOD FOR ME. BUT I CANNOT SING AND LISTEN TO MUSIC LOUDLY HA)

…you say silly instead of stupid (AND U CANNOT SAID THE F WORD, OR SHUT UP OR PISSED OFF)

…you’re ready to drink anytime of the day (THAT'S ALWAYS BEEN MY CASE LOL)

…you know what a LCC is

...you take a nap, after you dropped of the kids at school (after being up for just 2hrs)

…you don’t think it’s wrong to have cake AND ice cream (AND EVEN MORE THAN THAT!)

…you park as close to the store as possible so you don’t have to walk even one yard too far (AND SO I DONT LOST MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT!)

…you don’t walk into the bank, you use the drive-through to get your money (I DONT EVEN USE CASH. DEBIT CARD, EVERYWHERE (:)
…you use Purell instead of washing your hands

…you know not only all your kids friends name, but their parents too (AND TEACHERS, PRINCIPAL, COUCHS...AND GET CALLS FROM THEM)

.. you explained at least ten times already what an “an Au Pair” is (AND WE'RE NOT BABYSITTERS!!)
...you don't care anymore about your looks when you're on duty (AND OFF DUTY TOO)

...you think lunch always consists of 'Macaroni & Cheese', 'chicken nuggets' or 'hot dogs'

...you would literally be lost without your GPS (LITERALLY LOST! LOVE MY GPS <3)

…you are DRIVING to the bus stop to pick up your kids, which is only 200 meters from your house. (NOT TO THE BUS STOP, BUT TO SCHOOL AND TO THE HILL DOWN THE STREER LOL)

… you need to be creative to find new punishments because a time-out doesn’t work anymore (IT NEVER WORKED!)

…you start to love Disney movies again and can copy every passage from them

…you’ve learned what it means to be patient (I ACCOMPLISHED MY GOAL!)

…you know that you should never SHAKE A BABY!!!

…instead of singing songs from the radio you sing children songs (THANKS GOD MY KIDS ARE OLD ENOUGH TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO. THOUGH I HAVE TO LISTEN TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND JUSTIN BIEBER AGGG)

…the kids call you mom because you spend too much time with them

…you’re sure you don’t want your own kids within the next 100 years! (SOOOOO TRUEEEEEEE!!)
